Holistic Family Medicine

First, what do we mean by “holistic”? Great question! Much like “self care” and “all natural”, the term “holistic” has been applied to almost everything lately so we understand the confusion and even apprehension. Is this real medicine? What if I’m, like, really ill?
At SHÈN we simply use the term “holistic” to describe an approach to medicine that investigates root causes of illness by evaluating you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms, and prioritizes food, movement, stress management, and sleep as the primary treatment tools. These can be used in conjunction with, or in place of, the more traditional Western allopathic model.
And yes, it is real medical care. Provided by a board certified nurse practitioner. Expect a full exam, a thorough health history, and if warranted, a full lab workup.

Maybe your symptoms are as simple as a cold. Or maybe you’re suffering from a more hidden, long term assailant. Either way, where holistic medicine truly shines is in its approach to treatment. If there is evidence to support a supplement, food, or lifestyle change that will treat or manage your illness, we’re gonna use it! We don’t dismiss Western medicine - we just believe you deserve care that’s unrushed, individualized, and truly supportive. Maybe there’s a better way.
Holistic family medicine at SHÈN blends conventional diagnostic tools with integrative, whole-body treatment strategies. Every appointment is grounded in functional, judgment free patient-centered care that considers your lifestyle, symptoms, environment, and goals. From acute care to prevention to energy support, our approach is comprehensive and personalized.
