How did you decide to go into your field?
I have wanted to be a chiropractor from a very young age; it was one of the first things I ever said I wanted to be when I grew up! I began running competitively in middle school and moved to the varsity cross country and track teams very quickly (small town stuff). During this time, my chiropractor helped me with nutrition and the aches and pains from heavy training. She quickly became a role model to me as a successful female professional while growing up in rural Minnesota. She fostered my understanding of food and movement as medicine and my passion for healthcare. I went on to become a collegiate runner in both cross country and track and field, and now enjoy all things outdoors where I get to push myself and move my body. Sports medicine and chiropractic care have helped me reach my fitness goals every step of the way.
What makes you excited about your work?
I love seeing people make goals and then achieve them while feeling and performing better than they ever thought possible. That excitement and drive are what make me so grateful to be able to serve this community, from new mom to professional athlete.
What makes you unique in your field?
I strongly believe that your care should be in your own hands with no lengthy treatment plans of an adjustment per week, forever. I make sure that together, we understand the root cause of the issue in order for me to give you all the tools you need to resolve your pain outside of the clinic and help you build healthy habits to conquer your goals. I am an ex-collegiate athlete and a current outdoor enthusiast/recreational athlete, and my Masters in Sports Medicine has allowed me to work with athletes at all levels, from professional to weekend warrior. So whether you are trying to summit your next mountain, recovering from an injury, or dealing with occupational aches and pains, I would love to help you get to the root of it.
