How did you decide to go into your field?
When I got my degree in Exercise Science, my intention was to become a collegiate coach in cross country and track and field. Shortly after fulfilling that dream, I realized I wanted to pursue a path that would help others with injuries and pain. I spent many years in my youth struggling with running injuries and taking me away from my passion of running, and I wanted to help myself and others get back to what they love to do! Massage was a way that I could combine my knowledge of the human body with my need to help others on a healing path.
What Makes You unique in your field?
I love to get to the root of why pain patterns exist. I don’t just want to help relieve my clients of pain for a short time, I want them to understand why the pain exists. That way we can work together to get rid of the pain for good. I enjoy empowering my clients to help themselves along the path of healing. Our bodies innately know how to heal if we provide the ideal environment to make that happen.
What makes you excited about your work?
I love to be challenged. I want to be pushed to learn something new and expand my repertoire of knowledge. Working alongside the ladies at SHÈN means I get to do this everyday.
Favorite musician? Favorite food? Favorite TV show this year?
Zach Bryan. Mediterranean food. Not recent, but New Girl will always be my favorite.
