Manual Therapy
At SHÈN, we use hands-on modalities to treat soft tissue (i.e. muscle, myofascia, ligament, and tendon) restrictions that may limit performance, cause pain, or even delay recovery.
We believe everyone can benefit from soft tissue work! Combined with movement - it’s the best way to reconnect your brain with your body, dial up your proprioceptive system, and dial down your sympathetic nervous system.
Whether you're healing an injury, recovering from intense activity, or “just woke up like this”, targeted soft tissue therapy can help restore balance and function throughout the body.
How Manual Therapy Works
Manual therapy addresses tension and dysfunction in the fascia, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. These techniques improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and support healing so you can move with more ease and less discomfort.
Who It’s For
Soft tissue treatment are helpful for (but not limited to):
- Athletes recovering from overuse or acute injuries
- Clients with chronic pain from repetitive stress or poor mechanics
- Anyone dealing with tightness, stiffness, or postural imbalance
- Individuals seeking better mobility, recovery, or performance
What to Expect
Your provider will choose techniques based on the tissue involved, whether it be your fascia, ligaments, muscles, or tendons. Modalities include myofascial release, trigger point therapy, IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization like “scraping”) and dermal traction via cupping.
Treatment is focused on healing injured tissues, correcting maladaptive postural patterns, and creating mind-body connections.
