How did you decide to go into your field?
I love getting body work, I love getting adjusted - basically I love being cared for and figured others do as well. And since being a “professional reader” was not in the cards, I took my other greatest skill and turned it into a remarkable career. After working for nearly a decade as a massage therapist, becoming a chiropractor was the natural evolution of the hands-on bodywork and thoughtful clinical analysis I was looking for!
What makes you unique in your field?
If I had to put it in one sentence I’d say “I shine at helping active adults stay mobile, strong, and doing what they love through a really special combination of body work, movement focused treatment, and a little levity”. What a mouthful! I consider myself an empathetic listener and a curious provider. Also, I really try to leave my ego out of my work. I trust my work as a practitioner - but I also trust that you know your body better than anyone else.
What makes you excited about your work?
Gosh, where to start? This is my dream job - even on the hard days. I love the work itself and the people I get to share it with. I can’t lessen your work load or tell your kids to pick up after themselves or force you to drink more water. But I CAN help your body feel better, heal faster, and better regulate itself. And surely that’s something! I think a lot of people feel like they just have to “live like this” i.e. with headaches and stiffness and afraid of movement. But I love finding ways to change that narrative for them. And I love getting to know my patients and their stories.
