Class IV Laser Therapy
As part of a broader sports medicine plan at SHÈN, this non-invasive treatment helps your body heal faster, so you can get back to training, movement, or competition with less downtime.
It’s a powerful tool for athletes and active individuals recovering from injury, managing inflammation, or looking to speed up tissue repair
What Class IV Laser Therapy Does
In a process called photobiomodulation (a sciency way of saying that light is changing the tissue) the Class IV laser penetrates the skin and deeper tissues to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue regeneration through collagen stimulation. Class IV laser therapy has been shown in research to accelerate healing when used alongside other therapies like chiropractic care, manual therapy, acupuncture, or rehabilitation exercises.
Who It’s For
Laser therapy can benefit individuals dealing with:
- Soft tissue injuries like sprains, strains, or tendonitis
- Post-surgical or post-fracture healing
- Overuse conditions such as plantar fasciitis or tennis elbow
- Chronic joint or nerve pain
- Recovery from high-volume training or repetitive stress
- Sinusitis or congestion associated with allergies
What to Expect
The Grade IV laser treatment is warm and generally very soothing. Many patients even fall asleep!
Unlike other modalities that work to mask symptoms for a short time, the laser is working deep to actually heal tissues. And while the effects of a Grade IV laser treatment is cumulative, most patients notice reduced pain and inflammation even after one visit.
At SHÈN, laser therapy isn’t used in isolation. It’s thoughtfully integrated into a complete care plan based on your injury, performance goals, and recovery timeline.
