Chiropractic Adjustment
At SHÈN, chiropractic care is an active part of your sports medicine treatment plan. These manual or instrument assisted adjustments are used alongside your prescribed exercises to restore movement to restricted or resistant joints.
Applied safely and specifically, chiropractic adjustments will go a long way in helping your body move with less pain and more efficiency.
Who It’s For
Sports chiropractic care is helpful for:
- Runners with hip, knee, or low back discomfort
- Climbers, skiers, and cyclists with joint stiffness or overuse pain
- Athletes in post-injury rehab
- Recreational movers and weekend warriors managing joint imbalances
- Anyone working toward performance goals with mobility or movement restrictions
- Individuals who have to sit or stand for prolonged hours throughout the day
- Pregnant women with low back or pelvic pain
What to Expect
This powerful tool involves applying gentle pressure - or a quick but shallow thrust - to the area of joint dysfunction, typically resulting from an injury, muscle imbalance, sustained poor postures, etc. You may hear a “crack” or “pop” in the joint being adjusted, often accompanied by a sensation of release and relief in that area.
Research shows consistently how safe and effective chiropractic manipulation is, making it an excellent addition to your treatment plan. Adjustments are typically pain-free and are often immediately pain-relieving.
Wary about being adjusted? We hear ya! We will always let you know if it’s appropriate for you to be adjusted - and we promise to never do so without your permission.
